Churches visited...

While in Spokane we were warmly welcomed to speak at 4 different churches.  Only being in town for 6 weeks, and attending Ciara's wedding on one Sunday, and having our wedding on the following Sunday means that all our Sundays were very busy.

At St David's Episcopal, we had the blessing of sharing during their coffee hour after the early service before the late service.  Then we rushed off to speak at Otis Orchards Community Church (Julianna's home church).  The next Sunday we spoke at Journey Fellowship, and were invited to join their weekly baseball game after the service.  Our last Sunday in the states we spent the day with St. Marie's First Baptist, enjoying a wonderful BBQ on the river after the service.

We were blessed every week as we met brothers and sisters in the Lord and shared what God has been doing in our lives, and the new direction He is sending us into as the National Director team for YFC - Swaziland.

From the top of Mt. Spokane to Lake Coeur d'Alene I enjoyed showing off my community to Nathan.  The first weekend we watched Tiffany's boyfriend, Johnny, play basketball at "Hoopfest".  Nathan went crazy taking pictures of how all the streets of downtown Spokane are completely closed off for the whole weekend while thousands of teams of all ages compete.  We also saw the Spokane Falls in all their glory due to the large snow melt off this year.  

 God blessed us with much time with extended family while in the stateds... beautiful day at the Pend Orielle (pon-der-ay) with Julianna's fathers brothers family (she only has 2 cousins)!  Nathan was the official photographer when it came time to take the family photo. The day ended with a beautiful sunset while the kids still got in a little fishing time.    

July 3rd... Nathan and I enjoyed a wonderful time at my sister's with a good 'ol fashioned' BBQ.  If you look closely you will see that my daughter is wearing high heels while playing basketball - she was breaking in the shoes for Ciara's wedding.  

It has been a long time since I updated my blogsite... now that I have a partner in ministry (my husband, Nathan) I am hoping to have some help in keeping this updated.  So... forgive me for the absence... but I am picking up with about 2 months ago news with separate blogs

June 26th was the big day... Nathan put a ring on my finger when he arrived at the Sea-Tac airport!! In all the excitement though, he lost his passport. We didn't realize it was gone until about 2/3 of the drive home to Spokane.  God was faithful to look after it, and 5 days later we had confirmation that it was found and in the hands of a South African friend (Lucy) of Nathan's.  

If I rise on the wings of the dawn...

Ps 139:7-10 "Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presense? If I go up to the heavens You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn; if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast!"

For those of you familiar with old hymns, the first one that popped into my mind as I awoke and took this picture yesterday morning... "When Morning Guilds The Sky... My heart awakening cries; May Jesus Christ be praised!" PILAT (language acquisition class) will end tomorrow. In addition to seeing the glory of the Lord reflected in the sky at sunrise(from my bedroom window!), our class has also seen it reflected in the beauty of His creating hand from the top of Pikes Peak to the Garden of the God's. After this beautiful sunrise, today we woke up to a blizzard which left at least 20 inches of snow on the ground! Tomorrow the temp. should be up to 50 and the snow will all melt before the weekend! I love that God changes everything, and yet He never changes!

"This little light of mine..." At the age of 14, God's light found a home in my heart. During my high school years, the strong biblical principles I learned in youth group molded a deep faith that kept me close to the "Light of the World" as I raised 3 beautiful daughters.

"I'm gonna let it shine..." For 20 years God presented opportunities to shine His light into the lives of children through 5-Day Clubs in my backyard for neighbor children, Bible Study Fellowship, and teaching Jr. High Sunday School.

"Let it shine..." As a Discipleship Group leader and Sr. Staff on two Royal Servants short term missions, God's light transformed the students I worked with in Greece and The Gambia, West Africa, and renewed my vision to serve in full time missions.

"Let it shine, let it shine! " "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers (90% Muslim population in The Gambia) so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God... For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ" (2 Corinthians 4:4,6). After 15 years as Human Resource Coordinator in the retail industry, God has given me the opportunity to shine for Him using my administration skills to assist the YFC ministry in The Gambia.

The Lord has commanded us, "I have placed you as a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth." This is my first post, and until I get this blog thing figured out... it will be a few days till I can do more...
