Why God blessed us with a large house with 3 extra bedrooms....

For the past 4 days we have been blessed to offer accommodation to 2 single moms and their grown children while they visit South Africa for the 2010 World Cup Soccer Tournament. A Swedish friend of Nathan's cousin called last week and asked if we had room for her friends to stay on their way from Cape Town up to Port Elizabeth. A quick glance at the schedule proved that God always has perfect timing! The YFC Buyela Team from Johannesburg is in town already, but a conference center offered to let them stay all together for those days, so... Yes, we had room, and 4 of the YFC team only move in on Friday!!
Marie & her son John, and Susanne & her daughter were a blessing as they cooked good food for us and we cheered for the Netherlands (Holland) in Tuesday's match! They are a little more 'hard core' fans than we, but Nathan and I made sure we had the right color shirts on to look the part. We put them on the bus yesterday afternoon, and will be watching the semi-final game in Port Elizabeth... looking for their large Swedish flag!

Watch for the next posts of the YFC Buyela team staying for another 2 1/2 weeks, and then a team of 8 with Athletes In Action from Holland... now you also know why God blessed us with a large house with 3 extra bedrooms!

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you..." (Matthew 28:19-20)

"Nathan, I need your help!" came a request from one of the small group leaders at The Ultimate Goal (Holiday Club). "Pieter and I have a boy in our group that wants to accept Jesus, we need your help to lead him!" The young man with the request is one of the youth from our church and in Nathan's Children's Church class. Tied to his passion to lead people into a relationship with Jesus, is a passion to coach the teens in his class to do the same... Nathan was in his element!

After just a few minutes of listening to Nathan talking to this student, the other teens had the confidence to each speak to another boy on his own... I caught all of them deep in conversation on the bleachers. The angels are rejoicing, and so are we as making disciples... who make disciples... who make disciples... and the Kingdom of Heaven is expanding! Thank you for your prayers
